December 2008
→ WILL-AM
(29th December 2008)
I appear on the Afternoon Magazine on WILL-am, the radio station of the University of Illinois. I'm pretty sure the University of Oxford never had its own radio station.
→ Booklist
(24th December 2008)
Those nice people at the American Library Association, who publish Booklist, decide I have written one of the top ten science books of 2008. All I can say is, my high school chemistry teacher would be astonished, as I was rubbish.
(19th December 2008)
Bloomberg kindly sticks me in their Top Non-Fiction of 2008, inbetween Thomas Frank and Diarmuid Jeffreys.
→ WYPR
(17th December 2008)
I got a bit stumped on this by a question about some wonderful new wastewater treatment facility, but never mind. Midday with Dan Rodricks, on Baltimore's NPR affiliate.
(13th December 2008)
I talk toilets with Simon Morton, a jolly New Zealander who has a national show down, down under on Radio New Zealand called This Way Up. You'll notice that he wants to know far more about the intricacies of plumbing than I am able to tell him.
(4th December 2008)
The fabulous Economist, not content with giving me a delightful review, votes The Big Necessity one of the best books of 2008.
