Guts

Posted on 27th March 2010

Alternet turns its attention to shit, and to the power of good and bad bacteria in our guts. The catchy headline reads, “Poop is the most important indicator of your health.” I have a slide in my presentation which features a doner kebab, which illustrates the point that for most people in well-plumbed societies, diarrhoea is extremely banal and usually the result of a bad take-out/takeaway meal (of course I substituted the kebab in Istanbul). In this alternet piece, the kebab is a fecally contaminated Subway sandwich.
