From the book Sulabh Sanitation Movement by S. P. Singh, some pithy history:
Nero was a mad Roman emperor who murdered his mother and two wives, castrated his friends, forced Roman aristocratic matrons to have sex with slaves in public and used the burning bodies of Christians to light up the night sky. He even set Rome aflame in AD 64 and sung folksongs atop a hillside. But he also built the water supply system. Nero was not happy with all that and he committed suicide in AD 68.
