I have been interviewed on television twice in my life. The first time was in Liberia, when I featured on Clar TV, a station owned by George Weah, world-famous footballer and – thankfully – failed candidate for the Liberian presidency. The second time was on the PBS show Foreign Exchange, for a special programme dedicated to water issues that was done in conjunction with the Pulitzer Foundation. They didn’t give me make-up at Clar TV; and they didn’t have a copiously stocked Green Room either.
